sTREga new website is on!
I have finally finished working on Trio sTREga website and from June 9, 2010 it is officially online at www.stregamusic.com . The sTREga part of my website will be still on for a while but for the latest updates and all completed information please go to the group's own homepage. I hope you will like it!
Kasia.
Strega in Italian translates as witch or sorcerer, and the verb stregare, means to bewitch, as in making someone fall madly in love through magic. Trio sTREga is a chamber group co-founded by Polish clarinettist Katarzyna (Kasia) Marczak and Italian pianist Erika Crinó. Kasia and Erika met in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia while both completing their Doctorates in Performance. Their shared love for chamber music and mutual interest in contemporary works led them to form Trio sTREga, along with a fellow cellist. |

With the recent move to Toronto, the trio changed its profile into combination of clarinet, violin and piano with outstanding violinist Ewa Sas joining the group as the third member.
Our second 2010 recital, a Spring Contrasts Recital is already gone. We performed wonderful pieces, such as Contrasts by Bela Bartók, Ballade by Fryderyk Chopin, Robert Schumann's Fantasiestuecke and Sonatensatz by Johannes Brahms. It was a beautiful program, partially honoring this year's great anniversary of both Chopin and Schumann and it was a great pleasure for us to perform it. We had also a photoshooting session with our marvellous photographer Tanya Workman and there are her beautiful pictures at sTREga's website as well as on my Photos/Groups page. Please come here again and watch them! There will be also some video excerpts from our recital so please keep checking our website regularly!
In October 2009 sTREga recorded two marvelous trios: Aram Khachaturian's Trio and Darius Milaud's Suite. This is not a commercially released CD but anyone interested in buying it can contact us directly for more information. Several audio samples of the content of this CD are available in the auDIO part , feel free to go there and listen!
